Call for Preference Workshop Proposals

Theveli Conference Steering Committee invites submissions from researchers or organizations to conduct a one-day preconference workshop. Workshop session will be from 9am to 5 pm.  All topics relevant to higher education, research, publication and innovation are welcome. The sessions should help the participants to build knowledge and skills useful for conducting research in their research areas. Workshop proposals that incorporate a variety of instructional approaches (e.g. lecture, interactive discussion, and online tools) are strongly encouraged. Furthermore, workshops that provide practical guidance for conducting and managing research in a team in a variety of contexts and settings are preferred.


Workshop proposals should be submitted to Proposals should be limited to two pages, single spaced and should include the following information:

  • Proposed title and organizers (names, affiliations, email, identify one primary contact person)
  • Description of workshop: objectives (at least 3), goals, and expected outcomes
  • Statement regarding how the workshop can benefit Theveli conference participants
  • Description of target audience and estimated number of participants (minimum and maximum)
  • Proposed workshop duration (5 hours ), format, activities, and schedule
  • Any special A/V needs
  • Curriculum Vitae describing relevant experience and qualifications of the workshop facilitators (not included in page limit)



Proposal submission deadline: 15th June 2018

Notify successful applicant(s): 15th July 2018

Preconference Workshop date: 11th August 2018



Proposals will be peer-reviewed and evaluated against the following criteria:

  • Relevance to conference vision/topics and attendees
  • Potential to bring in participants to the conference from different audiences
  • Overall quality of contribution
  • Provides a collaborative, innovative and/or active learning environment for attendees
